And the ewwwwww factor goes up a little more

One of the things that I did know might happen was the separation of my abdominal muscles. I noticed last week that when I was lying down, and lifted my head up, I could see a little lump going straight down my midsection, so I figured it was starting to happen. (Apparently the lump is the rest of your insides poking through the separation between your muscles)

When I did the same thing last night, though, I got quite a fright! My muscles seem to have separated quite a lot, so I could now see a lump about two inches wide running straight down my middle.

Weird. Really, really weird.

I wondered what that was whenever I've seen pregnant bellies. Thank you.

Hmm I don't ever remember that during my PG... sounds weird.

Take care and good luck!

Your abdominal muscles SPLIT APART? Excuse me? Pregnancy continues to creep me out, just a little...

Girl, I know! I'm 17 weeks pregnant today and I just noticed my pointy stomach the other night. It's all alien and triangular when I bend a certain way. Weird, weird stuff.

Nice blog!

This does sound kind of weird...and painful. Does it hurt?

I have a feeling if this happens to me it will hurt, simply because I wouldn't be able to resist poking it with my finger all the time.

They will keep spreading even more til delivery. I remember that happening when I had Alex. It really upset me back then because I was so proud of making it through college without getting a beer belly, it was always so nice and flat. Lots of situps after the boy was born got it back in shape. Then I turned 30 and well, I just didn't have the energy to chase a 4 year old and exercise.

Don't stress out about it. Once the baby is born and the doc gives the go ahead you can start doing mini situps when you are holding the baby. That extra weight gives you extra resistance so you get back in shape even quicker.

Oh see this is one of those things I missed being a fat chick. :)

I've never heard of this one. I know that if I ever get to see a big lump down my middle, I'll be more than a bit freaked out! I guess it's only natural.
