Fwed

I walked into the u/s yesterday with a huge hole in my stomach, you know the kind you get when you're really nervous? Turns out it was totally unfounded. Everything looks great. Gestational sac measured 7w4d (which is what I am by O date), yolk sac 6w5d, and Fwed's crown-rump length was 8w1d. I could see the heart beating immediately, and it even looked like it might be four chambered, the doc said the 2/4 transition happens right around now. He was so nice, he took the time to show me everything: what will be the amniotic sac, placenta, the corpus luteum.

I'm really glad to have gotten this good news, but in a way sad at the same time. Sad that there have been so many others in recent weeks who have not gotten similarly good news. I wish so much that things could be different for all my friends who have started down the ttc road again.

Update

Okay, I lied again! I can't seem to stay away from here. I was planning on posting about my pg over at Phred/Fwed, but I'm just not comfortable doing that just yet, so I haven't posted anything.

Anyhoo... my beta at 15dpo was 611. I would think !!twins!!, except that it's just a little bit higher than my beta with Ant was, so it's pretty unlikely. Since then, I've just been trucking along with pretty much no signs of anything going on in there. My OB apt is scheduled for 2/21... but I've been freaking out a bit about the lack of symptoms. I didn't have many in my pg with Ant, but even fewer now (i.e. not tired, not super hungry, no sore boobs, no constipation). Mild queasiness is about all I have.

My RE's office left a message last week that I should call them, so I did yesterday. Apparently my last pap smear showed some "abnormal squamous cells". Not something you want to hear! But Dr. Google reassured me that it's fairly normal to have that, I really don't need to do anything other than continue to have follow-up paps. Cervical cancer seems to take a long time to develop, and a majority of people with ASC end up having normal paps the next time. Plus, it was HPV negative, which is also good.

But, while I had them on the phone, I figured I might as well ask for a scan. Hahaha. So I have one scheduled for next Tues, when I'll be 7w4d. Hopefully my lack of symptoms doesn't mean anything. Much easier to wait 5 days to know than another three weeks!
